The Winchester Family Business - Jensen Ackles Interview

Today was a very special day at Comic Con. It was Supernatural Day! I again had the honor of attending the Supernatural panel in Hall H and the press room afterward. Everyone was in great spirits and eager to talk about the new season.

My second interview of the day was with Jensen Ackles. This year, he went for the gray blazer and the Batman shirt. It looked awesome, as did he. Below is the entire roundtable interview. Jensen does spoil a few things, including a big spoiler during my question about Dean's Season Nine arc. Overall, he's just so charming and is quite a sight when he's across a table like this!

I'm stoked for Season 9 too! The only thing that makes me nervous is when Jensen talks about Dean keeping a secret from Sam -- only because I fear that might fan the flames of overreaction from certain fans! The words 'keeping a secret' must never be associated with our boys!

I, too, am curious about the news of a spin-off that has been reported on various sites... any idea what that was all about, Alice?

That word always causes issues, haha. and I think it's used completely on purpose to drive fans crazy. I watched Jared's press room interview though and he say he's ah "F'n stoked" about how Sam will heal and that it has him very excited....so it must be big that Dean feels the need to holding info back is the best thing for Sam...is my guess anyway. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Jeremy C likes to keep thing under wraps more so, i think, which I actually like....but the basic spoilers from comic con certainly have me 'stoked' for S9. It's really sounding awesome.

Thanks for this Alice. Jensen looks amazing, as always. Even though he didn't say too much, he said enough to get me really excited for season 9. A secret, the bros having to work together, it's all good.

Great video, Alice! I'm chuffed for season 9!

I particularly loved his insights on directing: that prepping is where all the work happens, and the actual directing is the final exam. Excellent point!

Great interview; fatherhood certainly seems to agree with Jensen, he looks wonderful. I know that the idea of a 'secret' that Dean is keeping from Sam makes everyone nervous and that fans would prefer that the brothers are on the same page and united, but I have to say that I don't mind a little conflict (or a lot!) between the brothers. If they were in perfect agreement all of the time I think it would be very boring. They are two different people so a little conflict is inevitable. I like the conflict and the drama it generates. Oh, the exquisite angst! In Dean's own words "bring it!"

Thanks Alice, I always enjoy the press-room interviews. Jensen looks very nice indeed. He always seems so comfortable in his own skin, and what lovely skin it is

I am looking forward to the new season and am glad there haven't been any spoilers that have freaked folks out! Yet.

E and Leah, he's a new father. Shouldn't he have bags under his red eyes? He looks stunning. They never get as much out of him though. With Jared it often feels like he is having to keep the info from exploding out of him. Jensen in the hq panel I think said that is how he is most like Sam. That he is very cautious and measured in his responses. I totally agree.
